Just a little bit about myself.
I have a natural tendency towards history, and I am always listening for new stories about my hometown (Mount Pleasant, Tennessee) and the surrounding area. My husband, Charles, and I have been working for many years putting together the genealogy of our families. We hope to publish this collection for each family in the near future.
I retired from banking in 1999. I spent several years as a newspaper correspondent with a local newspaper. It was this experience that led to friendships with locals that brought about my first historical book, Mount Pleasant’s 100 South Main Street. We have since published "One Man's Vision...One County's Reward" which includes the history of a German WWII Camp in Lawrenceburg, Tennessee. "Shock Therapy! Building a Power Line with a BLONDE Groundman" is a humorous account of us building our own power line on the home place.
One of our grandsons wanted us to write a book together. As a fifth grader he was a huge history buff. For his 12th birthdaywe were able to surprise him at his school with his book "The Christmas Miracle of 1914". He put a lot of research and ideas into his book.
Charles and I have a blended family that includes four sons and thirteen grandchildren. We are involved in church, civic, and community activities. Charles and I are active with an International organization that places Bibles in hotels, hospitals, and other locations where both of us have served at the state level in Kentucky and have spoken at different functions.
Thank you for visiting my website. I hope we meet in the near future.
